Send videos, images and audio to Kodi

Pushbullet is all about pushing content from one platform to another (the clue is in the name), and that's what Pushbullet for Kodi does best. Let's say you're browsing the web when you find a video you'd like to watch on your TV:just right-click the URL, then click “Send to Kodi”.

If the URL is something Kodi can play, Kodi will play it, simple as that. A few things I've noticed while testing this:

  • YouTube and Vimeo URLs play without issue, as long as you have the respective plugins installed on Kodi.
  • Any site with a Kodi compatible video should work. Share a video on The Daily Show The website requested that the video be opened via USTV's vTV plugin.
  • Even if a site is not supported, you can still push the content to Kodi if you can find a direct video URL.
  • Sending a page full of embedded videos from other sites won't work - you need to embed the source page.

If Kodi is already playing something, by default Pushbullet won't interrupt it (you can also configure Pushbullet so that Kodi doesn't automatically play files sent to it, if you prefer). However, if you go to Pushbullet under Programs, you can review everything you've pushed to Kodi in one place.

Phone notifications in Kodi; Kodi notifications everywhere

You know that thing when you're watching TV and your phone vibrates but you're too lazy to see what's going on? Pushbullet can optionally display your phone's notifications on your TV screen, so you don't have to move around to find out if it's something important.
