Now it turns out that Netflix also offers a way to recommend shows and movies that you want added to your video library. Surprised? Us too.
Even more surprising, in a tweet, Netflix seemed to think we all already knew about the feature. Um, no Netflix, we didn't.
So how does this magical new discovery work? Let's take a closer look.
The process is simple, just go to help.netflix.com/en/titlerequest and fill in the titles of your three recommendations. When you are satisfied with your entries, complete the Captcha and click Send suggestion .
There is no limit to the number of times you can use the service, although Netflix explicitly says that submitting the same request more than once will not increase the likelihood of your show being selected.
Once you've made your submission, Netflix will keep you updated on your progress via email. It will also use your suggestions to make recommendations about other shows you like.
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that Netflix will accept it in their recommendations. Some content rights are tied exclusively to certain distributors, some streaming rights are not for sale, and some shows you can recommend just aren't in high enough demand among Netflix's user base.
