If you are looking for a TV recommendation site, TV is the place to go. It has a search engine at the top of the main page, and you have to type in the name of a program. It will then give you similar shows. So to test it out, I entered “baywatch” (NO RESULTS!). After that shock, I tried the A-Team, Airwolf, Knight Rider, and MacGyver. Thank God everyone was there.

Although their algorithm could use a bit of tweaking, when I got into the A-team, they told me to look at Xena:Warrior Princess.

SynopsiTV is another recommendation site, and despite the name, it also covers movies. It offers different options, based on the previous display preferences you entered. The site works on the assumption that all of your friends and family have horrendous tastes in movies and TV, so the only person who can make an informed decision about what to watch next is you. Ignore all the hype about a new movie coming out and instead just recommend things based on your tastes.

So you tell it what you like, what you hate (and rate each accordingly), watch trailers, and create playlists. The site will do its best to provide you with viewing suggestions.
