This change for the better means that people are now happy to call themselves geeks, and has led the entertainment industry to increasingly cater to this potentially lucrative market.

Hollywood has taken full advantage of this, with geek movies like the current series of comic book movies proving box office gold. But what, you might be wondering, are some of the best geek movies ever released? Ask me no more, my fellow geeks, as we've compiled a list of 42 of the best geek movies of all time. 42? Yes 42.

We recently asked you, What is your favorite geek movie? We were not disappointed, with many of you telling us all about the geek movies you love. We've narrowed all of these suggestions down to a 42-person list that contains some (but not all) of the best geek movies of all time.

I've personally seen 36 of the 42, and there are two that I've never heard of before compiling this list.
