Netflix has confirmed the return of Toy Boy for season 2! Release date, cast, plot... find out everything we know about this new season!
The first season of Toy Boy was released on Netflix in February 2020. This new Spanish production (alongside La Casa de Papel and Elite ) had been able to attract attention. This is a 13-episode telenovela-like thriller that follows Hugo Beltran, a stripper convicted of murder. On his release from prison, he seeks at all costs to prove his innocence and takes revenge on the people who trapped him. Good news for fans:Netflix has formalized the return of Toy Boy! And season 2 promises to be at least as sulphurous as the first...
The plot of Toy Boy takes place in Marbella, on the Spanish Costa del Sol. We follow Hugo Beltran (played by Jesus Mosquera). He is released on parole after spending seven years behind bars for a murder he did not commit. Previously, life smiled on Hugo, who had everything going for him. A great job, money, a group of great stripper buddies (the “Top Boys”), a great mistress… Until he is sentenced for the murder of the latter’s husband. Now free, Hugo is determined to clear his name, prove his innocence and make those who wrongfully brought him down pay.
Top Boy season 1 was produced by Antena 3 and broadcast on this Spanish channel in September 2019. Its executive producer is Sonia Martinez, who also produced La Casa de Papel. This is not the only common point between the two series. Indeed, Maria Pedraza (aka Alison Parker in La Casa de Papel) also provides one of the main female roles in Top Boy. She plays Triana Marin, the hero's young lawyer.
For the moment, Netflix is showing itself… quite sparse with information. We do not know, at this stage, when Toy Boy season 2 will be released.

Based on the end of season 1, rich in revelations, the release of a season 2 seems obvious. Netflix can't stop there... But the American streaming platform has not yet communicated any date of broadcast, or even filming.
The production is expected to begin filming imminently. The Covid-19 pandemic may have delayed delayed production of this new season. We will obviously keep you informed as soon as we have any news!
While Jesùs Mosquera played the role of Hugo in the first season, we wondered if we would find him on screen for season 2.
Indeed, the Italian actor and model Michele Morrone (known for his role in 365 DNI on Netflix) originally announced on Instagram that he would have a key role in season 2 of Toy Boy.
The Italian star finally announced in a story, still on Instagram, that he would not be in the game… Health concerns imposed on him an extended rest and unfortunately forced him to cancel his presence on the set of Toy Boy season 2...

The last episode of the first season of Toy Boy ended on a cliffhanger and a twist quite scary (spoiler alert!) . We learned that there was ultimately not only one assassin involved in the murder of Macarena Medina's husband. This one was indeed killed by Matéo and Philip.
Zapata eventually takes down Matéo in a confrontation between the two characters. And finally, as Hugo is finally proven innocent and celebrates his freedom, the living room explodes …Hugo seems to be the only survivor…
Season 2 will logically follow a maddened, heartbroken Hugo. He should probably prosecute the person or persons responsible for the explosion of the salon. We can expect to give everything to find the murderer of his girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Andrea and Jairo could finally start a new life away from chaos. Macarena could in turn make pay the consequences of its misdeeds.
