Netflix gift cards can be very useful to pay for a subscription for several weeks or several months. Here's where to find them and how to use them.
What is a Netflix gift card?
The Netflix gift card can be used to pay for your package or offer one or more months of Netflix subscription to one of your loved ones. It is possible to use it on an existing account or on a new account that you or your loved ones will create. A good idea to consider when you know that a Netflix subscription in France is more expensive than elsewhere.
Where to buy a Netflix gift card?
Several brands allow you to buy one or more Netflix gift cards, whether it's a physical store or an online purchase .
If you want to buy a card online, three brands offer the option:
- Startselect:several options available, you can even choose the amount up to 200€;
- Fnac.com:two Netflix e-cards available;
- Micromania:only one option available.
Other physical shops also offer this gift in stores. Micromania and Fnac offer both online and physical purchases, but you can also find them at Carrefour or Auchan. The full list of resellers can be viewed on the Netflix website.
Netflix Gift Card Price
In general, resellers offer two gift cards of different amounts:
- a €25 gift card :allows you to take advantage of the streaming platform for between a month and a half and two months depending on the subscription plan;
- a €50 gift card :to pay the subscription between 3 and 6 months.
Some stores like StarSelect offer more flexible options. For example, you can choose the amount of the gift card yourself, up to €200 . It's obviously pretty useless if you've been considering using Netflix for free...
How to use your Netflix gift card
The use of the Netflix card can be done via 3 different modes:a physical gift card, a receipt or an e-card with download code.
With a physical card
- Scratch off the silver film on the back of the card;
- Go to netflix.com/redeem;
- Enter the PIN code found under the silver foil.
With a receipt
If you have a receipt, just go to netflix.com/redeem and type in the PIN that is on the receipt.
With a digital gift card
Again, go to netflix.com/redeem and enter the PIN code that appears in the email containing your gift card.
How to do if the gift card does not work
Several reasons can prevent you from using a gift card:
- the code you entered has already been redeemed :generally, it means that another account has used this gift card. If you are sure this is not the case, you can contact Netflix;
- the code is not valid :it may be a simple error, again, the easiest way is to contact Netflix to solve the problem;
- an error occurred :It's usually enough to clear your browser cookies or clear cookies through Netflix and try to redeem your code again. Sometimes it also means that the merchant has not activated the card, do not hesitate to contact him if the above technique does not work;
- the payment method is not compatible with the gift card :If you are billed through iTunes or use an offer that includes the Netflix service, unfortunately you cannot use a gift card. However, these don't have an expiration date, so you can keep them for later use or on another existing account;
- country code does not match :you cannot use a gift card if it has been issued in a country using a currency other than yours. In fact, you can for example use a card in France if it was purchased in Europe (except Great Britain) but not in the United States.
