Like taking great photos with a smartphone?

No need to own DSLRs to have sublime shots. Current technological developments in smartphones make it possible to obtain models equipped with particularly high-performance digital cameras. On the other hand, you must adopt certain tricks to be sure of succeeding in your photos.

Priority to good brightness

Before considering magical photos using your smartphone, start by cleaning your lens. By dint of being in your pocket or bag, it has certainly gotten dirty, which blurs the photos. It is advisable to clean it before each shot using an antistatic cloth or cotton cloth. Now that it's done, learn the basic rules of photography. Priority is given to brightness. It is important especially in smartphones with a small sensor that perceives very little light. Always take your shots where the lighting is good. And above all, avoid the famous backlight that happens when the subject is placed facing the sun. If ever you are sorely lacking in natural light, use the lighting of a lamp. The photos that emerge are sometimes surprising in their quality. Be careful, as far as possible, have a light hand on the flash. Its use in dark environments deteriorates the quality of the shot. This function is only to be considered to solve a small lack of luminosity or to erase shadows.

Keep maximum stability

Selfie lovers know this very well. A lack of stability affects the quality. That is why it is advisable to always try to use both hands. Otherwise, activate the self-timer to have time to find a comfortable position. And if you absolutely want to take selfies with one hand, place your elbow close to your body to gain maximum stability. Another interesting trick is to use the various accessories, including the selfie stick, the grip or the tripod.

The right configurations to make

Smartphones today are real technological jewels and equipped with a host of options in terms of their digital camera. As for the “pro” models, they offer the ISO function. In a dark environment or at night, it should be high. But be careful, do not overdo it, because the high ISO gives a grainy appearance to the photos. Do not hesitate to use effects and filters as well. The idea is not to layer different kinds of filters, but to choose one wisely to best highlight your selfie. These effects will help correct high saturation or low brightness. In excess, they affect the quality of the photo.

Another thing:if you ever find yourself in a dark environment, the good idea is to deactivate the autofocus and manually focus. There is also the HDR mode which considerably improves the sharpness so you can use it to obtain a rather surprising result.

Finally, if despite all these tips, you are not yet satisfied, you can test the applications that allow you to act on the settings and retouch the photos as much as you wish.
