4K Roku devices now support Apple AirPlay and HomeKit


Apple AirPlay and HomeKit support is now available on select 4K Roku devices. This means that you can not only share content from your Apple device directly to Roku, but also control it with Siri.

As announced on the Roku Blog, Apple AirPlay and HomeKit support is now available on a variety of Roku 4K streaming devices.

This includes Roku Ultra, Roku Streambar, Roku Smart Soundbar, Roku Streaming Stick+ and Roku Premiere.

Support is also planned for Roku TV models, which will be rolling out in stages over the next few weeks as they receive the latest Roku OS 9.4 update.

With support for Apple AirPlay, you can now stream and share content directly from your iPhone, iPad or Mac to your Roku device. This means you can easily display your photos and videos on the big screen.

HomeKit support means you can use Siri commands to control your device. This includes the ability to control your TV's power, volume, and inputs.

According to Roku, its streaming players are the first to offer compatibility with all major voice systems:Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri.
