Samsung TVs in 12 countries will get Google Assistant this year


Google always seems to find a way to make Google Assistant available on more devices. Today, Samsung announced that it will bring Google Assistant functionality to select Samsung Smart TVs from the end of the year.

The company revealed on Samsung.com that Google Assistant is set to join Amazon Alexa and Bixby as voice assistants supported by Samsung 2020 TV models.

The Google Assistant on Samsung TVs can do pretty much anything it can on another device, like a Google Nest speaker. It can also control the TV with voice commands such as changing channels, adjusting volume, controlling playback, opening apps, etc.

Samsung TVs will also be able to control your smart home, provide weather information and use Google services such as search, photos, maps and calendar.

If you want to enable Google Assistant on your Samsung smart TV, you need to head to Settings , then General , followed by Voice , and finally Voice Assistant . From here you can choose between Google Assistant, Alexa or Bixby.

When and where is Google Assistant coming to Samsung TVs?

Samsung has announced that all 2020 QLED 4K and 8K TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero and The Terrace will get the Google Assistant.

The company has announced that Google Assistant is now available in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. After that, Google Assistant is expected to roll out to 12 more countries. These include Spain, Brazil, India and South Korea.

In the US, Samsung made Google Assistant available last month, so anyone in the US with a 2020 Samsung TV is already enjoying this feature.
