Apple Music TV is a new 24-hour channel for music videos

YouTube has dominated the online music video scene for a very long time. However, Apple is now coming in for a slice of the pie with the launch of Apple Music TV.

The new channel will be broadcast permanently. It will feature music videos and exclusive original content. Which makes it a rival of MTV as well as YouTube.

What is Apple Music TV?

Apple Music TV is a new free service available to those residing in the United States. It is available through the Apple Music app and the Apple TV app.

It will broadcast a constant 24-hour live stream of music videos. Content will be curated and there will also be exclusive premiere videos every Friday.

These exclusives begin November 23, featuring 777 by Joji and Gorgeous by SAINt JHN.

According to an Apple press release, Apple Music TV will also feature "specially curated music video blocks, live shows and events, and countdowns and guests."

For example, on November 22, there will be a special Bruce Springsteen segment (before the release of his new album the next day) that will feature his best music videos and a new interview conducted by Zane Lowe.

If you've used Apple Music before, you might have seen the original content that's been hosted there for many years. Some of these items will now also stream on Apple Music TV.

Should you use Apple Music?

Apple has long been a player in the music scene, and it's clear that the Apple Music TV announcement is the tech company putting another stake in.

However, rival platforms like Spotify continue to dominate. Is the announcement of Apple Music TV enough to attract new users?
