How to Use Bluetooth Headphones with an Amazon Fire TV Stick

Worried about disturbing others with the high volume of content streaming on your Fire TV Stick? To solve this problem, you can send the audio to your Bluetooth headphones instead.

As long as your device is Bluetooth enabled, you can connect and use it with your Fire Stick. We'll show you how to set up Bluetooth headphones with an Amazon Fire TV Stick.

How to pair a bluetooth-headset with your fire stick

The Fire Stick offers an easy method to help you connect your audio devices:

  1. Put your headphones into pairing mode. How you do this will depend on the device. For example, if you have AirPods, press and hold the single button on the AirPods case.
  2. Open Settings on your Fire Stick.
  3. Access Remotes and Bluetooth Devices optional.
  4. Select Other Bluetooth devices .
  5. Select the Add Bluetooth devices option to connect a device to your Fire Stick.
  6. Highlight your headphones when they appear and press the Select on your Fire Stick remote.

Your Bluetooth headphones should now be paired.

How to control the volume of your Bluetooth headphones

The Fire Stick does not offer the ability to control the volume levels of your Bluetooth devices.

If your headphones have their own volume controls, you don't need to read this section. However, if you have something like AirPods that don't have dedicated volume control buttons, you'll need to install and use an app on your Fire Stick to adjust volume levels.

You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Install the free Precise Volume app by sideloading it on your Fire Stick.
  2. Press and hold Home on your remote and select apps .
  3. Select Precise Volume app to launch it.
  4. You can now use the Media Volume slider to adjust the volume levels of your headphones.

Make volume-control easier with a slider

Precise Volume works quite well for controlling the volume of your Bluetooth devices. However, the slider is not very easy to use. One way to fix this is to install a cursor app on your Fire Stick:

  1. Load the Mouse Toggle app on your Fire Stick.
  2. Launch the app once it's installed.
  3. Enable the options labeled Enable Mouse Service and Automatically start mouse service on device startup .
  4. Open Precise Volume app and double tap Play on your remote to bring up the cursor.

How to disconnect or unpair Bluetooth headphones from a Fire Stick

If you want to restore the audio to your default sound system, you can disconnect your Bluetooth headphones from your Fire Stick. In the same menu, it's easy to unpair the headphones if you no longer want to use them with your Fire Stick:

  1. The head in Settings from the Fire Stick main screen.
  2. Select the Remotes and Bluetooth Devices optional.
  3. Choose Other Bluetooth devices .
  4. You will see your headphones listed on your screen. Highlight them using your remote and press the Select to disconnect your headset.
  5. If you want to unpair devices, press Menu on your remote control and confirm your action.

Watch content on Fire Stick without disturbing-others

The Fire Stick's Bluetooth support for audio comes in handy as you can enjoy your content without disturbing others. It's also handy if your headphones are higher quality than your TV speakers.

Likewise, if you don't like the default remote, you can get another Fire Stick remote and use it to watch and control your content.
