PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole. The game is based on previous mods created by Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene for other games, inspired by the 2000 Japanese Battle Royale film, and expanded into a standalone game under Greene's creative direction. In the game, up to a hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed. The safe zone available on the game map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players to smaller areas to force encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.

12.2 Patch Notes

This is one of the biggest PUBG updates for quite some time. This update is going to change some fundamentals of the game. If you are familiar with Call of Duty:Warzone, this update may make you feel more sensitive. These are the items that PUBG Update 12.2 brings to players.

  • Playable in TPP and FPP.
    • Solo and Squads, including 1-man Squad modes, are available.

Return BR

Comeback BR is a Taego-exclusive second chance mechanic allowing players who die during the first blue zone phase to resume combat later in the match.

Players who die during the first phase of the Blue Zone face off in the Return Arena, a location separate from the main Taego battlefield. Survivors who stay alive long enough in the Comeback Arena are helicoptered to the Taego continent in Phase 3 to resume their fight for Chicken Dinner.

  • Comeback BR is exclusive to Taego Squad matches.
  • Players who die before the end of the first blue zone phase are eligible and see a timer indicating when Comeback BR begins.
  • All eligible participants are simultaneously sent to the Return Arena, separate from the main fight, and must find loot and items to stay alive, competing with other Survivors.
  • There are no bots or knockdowns in Comeback BR.
  • Survive the indicated timer in the Throwback Arena fights and you will be flown back to the Taego continent by helicopter with all your items and gear to continue your fight for the Chicken Dinner.
  • While health and boost levels are reset upon returning to battle, your kills and stats are still saved.

This addition may look like the Call of Duty:Warzone Gulag but it's actually so different.

Auto DEA

Similar to Comeback BR, the Self AED is another Taego-exclusive second chance mechanic, giving players another opportunity to stay in the fight. The Self AED is a global loot item that allows players to revive themselves while DBNOd, without the need for a teammate, and can be used in solo and team matches.

  • Press the interact button or click the Self AED in your inventory to activate self-revive.
    • Cannot be canceled once started.
    • Cannot be used while already revived by another teammate.
  • Squads:The Self AED can be used even if your entire squad is DBNO, as a teammate holding the Self AED prevents your squad from being immediately eliminated.
    • This gives you the chance to recharge and then revive your teammates.
    • If the entire team remains DBNO, you will be eliminated once all players with Self AED are killed.
  • Solo:Having a Self AED allows you to enter DBNO instead of being instantly killed.
  • Auto AED uses are recorded as re-rolls in your stats.

Players have been asking for this for a long time. Like other Battle Royale games like COD, Fortnite, and Apex Legends, players can also revive themselves in PUBG.
