“We have put in a lot of effort, hoping to allow more spectators to witness the competitive showdown of the world's elite on the highest arena of international competition. However, in view of the current global epidemic situation, in order to support and cooperate with epidemic prevention and control work at home and abroad, and to protect the health and safety of every participant and audience, after various considerations from the organizer, we regret to announce that the original plan was to take place on July 31,” the organizers said.

Please stay tuned for official follow-up news,” the statement added. The decision has been made by Tencent to protect the health and safety of all participants as well as the public.
This was the third season of PEC, and unlike the previous two seasons, PEC 2021 was scheduled to take place mid-year on July 31 and August 1. The tournament was scheduled to take place at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai with a huge prize pool of 12 million yuan ($1.9 million). The organizers of the event have not yet announced a new date but will announce one soon.
